The home-town atmosphere of small rural villages, the environment of a unique Christian college, and the pride of a distinctly supportive community all work together to provide a nurturing learning environment for the students of Cedar Cliff Local Schools. Because of its small size, approximately 600 students in grades K-12 in one building, the district is able to educate students in a setting where faculty members know each of the students personally. And each student, likewise, has a unique opportunity to get to know each of the faculty members well. Because the students also typically know each other as well as the faculty, a warm, safe, and inviting environment prevails. This environment fosters the pursuit of academic excellence.
Within the district, the residents of the villages of Cedarville and Clifton, as well as those who reside on the rich farm land surrounding the villages, have fostered a long tradition of educational excellence. For over 63 years, operating levies and bond issues have been passed successfully by the voters on the first attempt. This has allowed the district to offer a well-rounded, quality education to its students.
National Merit Finalists and Commended Students have become routine in recent graduating classes. Advanced Placement course offerings include Calculus, Government and European History. A highly successful Envirothon team (science) has finished 7th in the state of over 300 teams.
Numerous service projects and extra-curricular activities reflect the community's esprit de corps and work ethic. The students in the classrooms and hallways are evidence of the community's traditional values of respect for self, peers, and authority; worth of education and integrity in relationship to others.
